 "Mother of Pune teen gave blood sample to swap with son's to save him after Porsche crash: Reports")
Not just the father, but the mother of the 17-year-old boy in the Pune Porsche crash case was also involved in trying to save her son from facing harsh charges for mowing down two IT professionals with his speeding car on May 19 in Kalyani Nagar.
As per the latest development, the teen’s mother, Shivani Agarwal, had given her blood sample which was swapped with that of her son’s at the Sassoon General Hospital before being sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
News18 has learned that Dr Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Sassoon Hospital, May 19, collected three samples of different people – one of the mother of the teen, and another of two elderlies – to swap with the juvenile’s before sending it to FSL.
Dr Harlon, who is now in the custody of Pune Police, had thrown the blood sample of the boy in a dustbin and sent one of the three samples to FSL to confirm if the boy was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Since the original blood sample was thrown in the trash and a different person’s blood sample was sent to FSL, the report showed the boy was not drunk at the time of the accident.
Teen’s mother was in hospital when blood samples were tested
According to a report by India Today, Shalini Agarwal was present at the Sassoon Hospital when the blood samples were collected and sent for the test.

Before the teen’s blood sample was collected, his father, Vishal Agarwal, a renowned real estate developer, made 14 WhatsApp calls and Facetimed Dr Taware between 8:30 and 10:45 am.

During interrogation, Dr Halnor revealed he had changed the blood sample on the directions of Dr Ajay Taware, head of the Forensic Medicine department of Sassoon General Hospital.
Dr Halnor has been sacked by the hospital for his alleged involvement in the case.
Mother of teen is absconding
The Pune Police had already recorded the statement of the teen’s mother. However, following the arrest and extensive probe of Dr Halnor and Dr Taware, she has been absconding.
Police said no communication could be established with Shivani Agarwal for more the 24 hours and it is understood that she has left Pune.
But the boy was drunk
When the report from Sassoon Hospital showed the juvenile accused was not drunk at the time of the accident, police got suspicious and took fresh blood samples for the test at a different government hospital.
The second report confirmed that the sample that was tested initially was not of the teen as it did not match with his father’s.

The second blood sample of the accused also matched with his father’s DNA and it also confirmed that the boy was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
This manipulation led the Pune Crime Branch to suspect that the doctors at the Sassoon General Hospital had tampered with the evidence to protect the minor boy, accused in the case.
