Pulwama anti-terror op enters day 2: Three terrorists killed, three security personnel injured in Kashmir

As the search operation in Bahmnoo area of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir continued for the second day on Tuesday, another terrorist was killed and three security personnel were injured.

According to India Today, at least ten protesters have also been injured in clashes with the security force personnel near the encounter site. Two militants were killed on Monday in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district. [caption id=“attachment_3774577” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Representational image. PTI[/caption] After the encounter, locals in the Malangpora area of Pulwama helped at least two to three militants escape, according to media reports. India Today earlier reported that the terrorists, identified as top Hizbul Mujahideen commanders, escaped early Monday as locals disrupted the search operations being carried out since Sunday evening. A stone-pelting mob clashed with the security forces, who launched a cordon and search operation after reports emerged that suspected militants were trapped in the area. On Saturday, security forces killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Bashir Lashkari who masterminded the gruesome murder of six policemen, including officer Feroz Dar last month, in an encounter following a cordon operation. Two civilians were also killed near the site of the gunfight where stone-pelters had gathered to disrupt the operation. With inputs from PTI
