Pranav Mistry to give up Samsung job to work for Modi govt?

Pranav Mistry, the Indian-born technology genius and the face behind the Galaxy Gear smartwatch project, could quit his cushy job at Samsung to work for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.

Pranav Mistry to give up Samsung job to work for Modi govt?

Pranav Mistry, the India-born technology genius and the face behind the Galaxy Gear smartwatch project, could quit his cushy job at Samsung to work for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. According to an Economic Times report, Mistry said, “I am waiting for him to pop the question… and ready to say bye to my lab.” Mistry clarified to ET though that he has no political ambitions and said that, “I (am more suited to a role) as an advisor to the PM or to the science and technology ministry.” [caption id=“attachment_1550019” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]Pranav Mistry is seen in this file photo. Reuters Pranav Mistry is seen in this file photo. Reuters[/caption] He is currently the head of Samsung’s Think Tank Team and is the vice-president of the company based in Silicon Valley. Mistry’s willingness to work with the Modi sarkaar should not come as a surprise since he has been pretty open about his admiration for Modi. On the day of Modi’s swearing-in, Mistry tweeted out:

Pranav holds a degree from IIT, MIT and has been called as one of ‘world’s ten best inventors’ on TedTalks. His previous project during PhD at MIT include a pen that draws in 3D; and TaPuMa, a tangible public map that can act as Google of physical world. He’s the inventor of SixthSense, a wearable device that enables new interactions between the real world and the world of data. Mistry hails from Palanpur, a small town in north Gujarat.
