Army sources said one soldier was also injured in the operation. The injured jawan, who received a bullet in the thigh, has been evacuated to Army’s 92 Base Hospital.

said that the army had launched search operations in the Sultanpora village after receiving a specific tip-off but were attacked by terrorists who were hiding in a house. The army personnel responded fired back and a fierce gunbattle in underway currently, according to the report.

said that at least two militants are suspected to be holed up in the house while other reports said that at least three militants may be present.
