Reports say they were SIMI(Students’ Islamic movement of India) terrorists. The head of Telangana state police, Anurag Sharma, said the five attacked the accompanying officers and tried to escape, but were shot dead. The five included alleged Islamic extremist Syed Viqaruddin, who has been held for two years on charges of killing two policemen in Hyderabad. AP
