Police brutality in UP: Three cops suspended after video of brutal beating

Etawah (UP): Three policemen were suspended on Thursday in Uttar Pradesh (UP) after a video clip showing them thrashing an alleged pickpocket inside a police station in Saifai went viral on social and electronic media. The video shows third degree method being used during questioning of the alleged pickpocket in the police station. The youth from Mainpuri, Rupesh alias Pullu, was caught near Muchehra petrol pump on Etah-Mainpuri road on 27 November and brought to the Saifai police station on charges of pickpocketing, police said. Those suspended were Sub-Inspector Avdhesh Kumar, and constables Gulab Singh and Arvind Singh, police said. You can watch the video here:
