The Delhi Police today arrested BSP leader and real estate tycoon Deepak Bhardwaj’s younger son, Nitesh, for his alleged involvement in his father’s murder in a south Delhi farmhouse. According to television reports, Nitesh was arrested along with his aide Baljeet Sehrawat, who works as a lawyer and property dealer. The murdered BSP leader’s younger son had been detained and grilled by the investigators. Nitesh had reportedly planned his father’s murder since he was upset and frustrated over a property dispute. There were three attempts on Bhardwaj’s life in the past as well. [caption id=“attachment_691813” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]
Deepak Bhardwaj was killed in his farmhouse.[/caption] Since the probe began the police had refused to rule out the involvement of family members in the murder. Police had earlier questioned Bhardwaj’s wife Ramesh Kumari and elder son Hitesh as well. Police sources had earlier said that somebody close to Bhardwaj seems to be the key conspirator and had offered Rs six crore for the hit. Police had arrested the two shooters and are trying to nab self-styled godman Pratibhanand, who is suspected to have plotted Bhardwaj’s assassination. However, police officials say that investigations revealed that Pratibhanand was merely a pawn in the entire game and the entire conspiracy was hatched by someone else. Police had said that Pratibhanand wanted money to build an ashram, so he readily agreed to eliminate Bhardwaj when he was offered payment for the murder. It was the guru who reportedly told the killers to dispose of their weapons in Rohtak. The Delhi Police has released photos of the godman and also conducted raids in Haryana, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Karnataka in his search. Earlier today the police recovered two country-made pistols in a canal in Rohtak that were allegedly used to murder Bhardwaj.
