Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched fresh attacks against the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that residents of Delhi are openly expressing their anger against the Delhi government for not fulfilling its promises.

In a virtual interaction with BJP booth-level workers, PM Modi said, “The ‘aapda’ is making new announcements everyday as it is daily receiving information of losing ground in various parts of Delhi.”

“AAP did not fulfil even one of their responsibilities in Delhi. They kept moving ahead with the belief that they could govern with lies. The people of Delhi have understood their game, they are fed up with the party’s lies and deceit,” he added.

The prime minister urged Delhi BJP leaders to achieve a target of winning over 50 per cent of the booths in the upcoming assembly elections.

Targeting the Delhi government for failing to provide basic needs like water to people, he said while interacting with a BJP member that “liquor is available but water is not”.

“The BJP will run a massive campaign to ensure that drinking water reaches everyone once it is elected to power here,” he said.

While the AAP has released all of its candidate lists with 70 candidates, the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced candidates for 68 out of the 70 assembly seats. Both parties have released their manifestos.

AAP releases ‘middle class’ manifesto

Meanwhile, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced a seven-point “manifesto” for the country’s middle class, saying they have been neglected by successive governments and are a victim of “tax terrorism”.

In a video message, he said the middle class is the real superpower of the Indian economy but has long been ignored and exploited solely for tax collection.

Kejriwal announced the seven-point charter aimed at addressing the concerns of the middle class.

The demands included raising the education budget from the current 2 per cent to 10 per cent and capping private school fees. He also proposed subsidies and scholarships for higher education to make quality education accessible to all.
