The Punjabi author and freedom fighter was popularly known as ‘Punjab Kesari’ and ‘Sher-E-Punjab’ meaning The Lion of Punjab. He died in 1928 after he sustained serious injuries when police used force during a non-violent protest against the Simon Commission. PTI
