Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a high-level meeting with the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, reaffirming India’s deep-rooted historical and cultural ties with the Central Asian region.
During the meeting, PM Modi welcomed the visiting ministers and expressed satisfaction over the growing strategic cooperation between India and the five Central Asian republics.
Discussions focused on regional security, economic collaboration, and the evolving geopolitical landscape.
Emphasising a shared commitment to global peace, the Central Asian foreign ministers strongly condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack and conveyed their support for India’s fight against cross-border terrorism.
Both sides called for strengthened cooperation to tackle common security threats and uphold regional stability.
“Delighted to meet with the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. India deeply cherishes its historical ties with the countries of Central Asia," said PM Modi on X, sharing a picture after the meeting.

“Look forward to working together to further deepen our cooperation in trade, connectivity, energy, fintech, food security and health for mutual progress and prosperity. We stand firm and resolute in our collective fight against terrorism,” PM Modi added.
On Thursday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had met the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, ahead of the fourth edition of the India-Central Asia Dialogue.
