PM Modi, like a parent, was concerned about 41 workers' wellbeing: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave Rs 1 lakh cheque to workers as promised. Also, the rescuers, who went inside the tunnel for digging, will be awarded Rs 50,000 each by the state government

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Wednesday met 41 workers who were rescued after being trapped for 17 days inside Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi on 12 November. He visited Chinyalisaur Community Health Centre and enquired about the health of the rescued workers and handed over relief cheques to them.

Workers & family thank PM Modi Talking to media, Dhami confirmed that the health condition of all workers is being monitored. All of them are healthy and happy. He also said the workers, their family thank the Central government and others and especially PM Modi, who “like a parent, was concerned about the wellbeing of the workers.” “We are fortunate to have the PM’s leadership under which each person in the country is safe,” the Uttarakhand CM said.

Workers to be sent to AIIMS Rishikesh Dhami said the workers will be sent to AIIMS Rishikesh where they will be undergoing medical check-ups. “I gave Rs 1 lakh cheques to them as promised. Also, the rescuers, who went inside the tunnel for digging, will be awarded Rs 50,000 each by the state government,” the Uttarakhand Chief Minister said.
