New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday invited Indians abroad to join the “Make in India” initiative, saying the country aimed to show its strength by exploiting technology to the maximum extent. Addressing a huge crowd of cheering Indian-Americans at the Madison Square Garden reception, he said: “If you want human resources and low-cost production, then India is your destination. I invite you to join the Make in India initiative.” Amid cheers from the crowd, Modi said he had made arrangements for Indians abroad to interact with him directly. “I have a website MyGov. I request you all to look at MyGov. Please visit the website and see how you can get involved. We aim to show our strength by exploiting technology to the maximum extent,” he said. The more laws we get rid of the better, it will be for us.” Inviting Indian-Americans to join the Clean Ganga initiative, he said: “Cleaning Ganga is not only for religious reasons, it is also the tackle the climatic problems.” The reception ended with a short video showing the importance of Ganga in India’s life and the steps the Modi government is taking to clean the Hindu holy river.
