Indian PM Narendra Modi on Friday (February 14) arrived in New Delhi following his visits to France and the US.

Earlier in the day, Vikram Misri, India’s foreign secretary, said in his press conference that PM Modi’s visit to the US was very productive and substantive.

“PM Modi just concluded a very substantive and very productive visit to the US at the invitation of President Donald Trump… This is the PM’s first visit after the inauguration of President Trump for a second term… the fact that this visit is taking place within three weeks and a bit of the inauguration is a signal of priority that both leaders attached to the India-US relationship,” he said.

PM Modi and US President Donald Trump leaders discussed a range of topics — everything from defence to trade and immigration and vowed to strengthen the India-US partnership.

The Modi-Trump meeting also reflected the two leaders’ bonhomie, a relationship they first cultivated during the US president’s first term at the White House.

At Thursday’s meet, the two leaders hugged, with Trump telling Modi, “We missed you a lot.” Modi responded by saying he was glad to see him back. The US president also presented the PM with a book — Our Journey Together — that features snapshots from moments of ‘Howdy Modi’ and ‘Namaste Trump’ events.

Modi’s AI push in France

“For us, AI is not just about artificial intelligence; it is about augmenting inclusion,” PM Modi declared, subtly redefining the acronym to reflect India’s priorities.

He also visited the Mazargues Cemetery in Marseille city along with French President Emmanuel Macron and paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the World Wars.

PM Modi also met US Vice President J D Vance and his Indian-origin wife along with their two young sons on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris.
