Jammu: BJP today termed the assurance given by Pakistan to withhold ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir as “deceptive”, alleging that they are buying time to plan future mischief. “Pakistan’s assurance to withhold ceasefire violations following the flag meeting between Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers yesterday as a deceptive ploy by it,” BJP National Executive Member and JK spokesperson Jitendra Singh told reporters. AFP.[/caption] “It is aimed to buy time for planning future mischief,” Singh said, quoting security agencies, that there are a larger than expected number of terrorists, possibly numbering over 2,000, trained in 42 camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan, who are waiting in readiness to be deputed for fomenting violence in the state. During the interrogation of infiltrators, as well as through communication intercepts, it has been confirmed that many of them were passed on to terrorist formations such as Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), he claimed. The BJP leader alleged that the failure of separatists to revive a local “uprising” in the state, has provoked them to seek direct help from their Pakistani patrons. On growing demands for withdrawal of AFSPA and removal of troops and bunkers from the state, Singh said even though they sound “attractive” on paper, but is premature to implement. “It cannot be done before permanent peace can be declared, Pakistan-backed extremism, terrorism and separatism will have to be brought to a complete end and re-energise the Police Force, to infuse greater confidence among the people,” he added IANS
