Ouch! Portion of false ceiling falls off at Chennai's new domestic airport

Three contract workers suffered bruises when a portion of a false ceiling at the recently inaugurated domestic terminal at the airport in Chennai fell down following heavy rains early Monday morning. [caption id=“attachment_776959” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] AFP[/caption] Airport sources said the incident occurred around 4 am in the area leading to one of the aerobridges in the terminal, inaugurated last month. Three loaders who were passing by the area suffered bruises. However, there were no passengers in the area since no flight was scheduled at the time of the incident, they said. Several parts of the city, especially the suburbs including the airport area, received heavy rains since the wee hours under the influence of cyclonic storm Mahasen which lay about 850 km southeast of Chennai in the Bay of Bengal.
