Eighteen soldiers were killed, in what was one of the deadliest attacks in North East India in a decade. And what's worse is that reports indicated the possibility of more lethal attacks by the militants.

The only way to prevent it was by launching a swift counter-insurgency operation. Out of this need was born 'Operation Hot Pursuit', for which the army's elite Paratrooper Special Forces unit's commandos were handpicked. Their objective: To seek and destroy the militant stronghold and foil imminent insurgent attacks.

Two-and-a-half years after the operation was carried out, History TV18 is able to unravel the dramatic twists and turns of what transpired as the Indian Army hunted down a determined and vicious enemy.

History TV18's report, titled Special Operations India: Myanmar, will honour high-profile speakers including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, former defence minister Manohar Parrikar, former chief of army staff Dalbir Singh, defence analyst Nitin Gokhale among others.

It will feature authentic recreations of the events, details of the operation, including its planning and execution, and first person accounts of the people who made it a reality.

The show will air on Wednesday, 28 March, at 9 pm on History TV18.
