An under-construction bridge, part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project collapsed on Tuesday in Anand district, Gujarat, resulting in the death of one worker, according to reports.

The collapse happened around 5 PM, raising fears that several may be trapped under the rubble. Local authorities quickly began rescue operations to locate and assist those affected by the incident.
National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited said, “Today evening at Mahi river, at the construction site of a bullet train project three laborers were trapped in between concrete blocks.
A rescue operation is in progress using cranes and excavators, it said, adding that one labour has been rescued and has been recovering in the hospital.

They are fine. It is believed that two other workers are still trapped. We are carrying out rescue operations.”
