Now, Dalit student in Karnataka attacked for 'anti-Hindu' writings

The latest incident of an attack on Dalits has been reported from Karnataka, where a journalism student was attacked for his ‘anti-Hindu’ writings, DNA reported. According to the report, an unidentified person told the student, Huchangi Prasad, that his mother was in the hospital after suffering a heart attack. Prasad reportedly went with the man believing this to be true, but was later attacked by eight to 10 men. [caption id=“attachment_2479818” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Karnataka police. According to the report, Prasad has been facing threats since the launch of his first book, which had writings about the treatment of Dalits in the country. The police has registered a case against unknown persons under sections relating to attempt to murder and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, as per a report in The Hindu. This comes shortly after reports about the murder of two Dalit children in Sunped and the murder of a 15-year old boy in Gohana, both of which are in Haryana. In May, a Dalit youngster in Shirdi in Maharashtra was crushed to death, allegedly because he had saved a song about Babasaheb Ambedkar as a ringtone on his mobile phone, as reported by The Indian Express.
