Notification for first phase of Jammu and Kashmir polls issued

Srinagar: The notification for elections in 15 of Jammu and Kashmir’s 87 assembly constituencies which will go to polls in the first part of the five-phase election was issued in Srinagar on Tuesday. PTI[/caption] The constituencies going to polls are Gurez, Bandipora and Sonawari in Bandipore district, Kangan and Ganderbal in Ganderbal district, Leh and Nobra in Leh district, Kargil and Zanskar in Kargil district, Kishtwar and Inderwal in Kishtwar district, Doda and Bhaderwah in Doda district, Ramban (reserved) and Banihal in Ramban district. As per the notification, 5 November is the last date for filing of nominations, scrutiny of the papers will be held on 7 November and candidature can be withdrawn by 3 pm on 10 November. Elections in these constituencies will be held on 25 November from 8 am to 4 pm. The Election Commission announced the poll schedule for Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. IANS
