No bomb on Turkish Airlines plane, will be cleared for take off in few hours: Aviation Secy

Any threat to  the Turkish Airlines’ flight TK-65, that had made an emergency landing at Delhi’s IGI Airport following a bomb scare, has abated and the aircraft could take off in a few hours, said Aviation Secretary R N Choubey on Tuesday after no bomb was found on the aircraft. Agencies[/caption] “BDS (Bomb Detection Squad) did a thorough check, nothing has been found as far as aircraft is concerned,” said R N Choubey in a press conference with Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju. The Turkish aircraft flying from Bangkok to Istanbul, was forced to make an emergency landing at Delhi Airport following a bomb threat. All 148 passengers (including 14 flight crew members) on the plane had been evacuated safely and the aircraft had been taken to an isolated bay for further checks. However, no bomb was found on the plane following thorough checks. When the aircraft was flying in Indian airspace, it was noticed that in the mirror of the washroom words ‘Bomb in CGR’ were written. The Pilot was alerted who requested for an emergency landing," Choubey said. “Usual drill was carried out , no bombs were found. The aircraft will be allowed to take off in a few hours,” Choubey added. The plane, an Airbus 330, had landed safely at 1341 hours on Tuesday at IGI Airport and was taken to an isolation bay for checks. Emergency had been declared at IGI Airport and security agencies, including CISF and NSG, had been put on high alert.
