Patna: BJP on Thursday hit out at Nitish Kumar for allegedly deploying personnel to guard fruits at 1, Anne Marg, the official Bihar CM bungalow occupied by Jitan Ram Manjhi, saying the episode has proved that the Chief Minister’s “Dalit love” was merely a “show piece”. [caption id=“attachment_2280086” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]sushilkumarmodi_pti1 (1) Sushil Kumar Modi. PTI[/caption] “Nitish Kumar ko aam janata ki nahi, aam ki chinta hai (Nitish Kumar is worried about mangoes, and not about common people),” senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said. “His love for Dalits is merely a show piece as reflected by the latest episode,” Sushil Modi said in a statement in Patna. Attacking Kumar for deploying 24 policemen, including 8 inspectors and 16 constables, to guard hordes of mango and litchi trees at 1, Anne Marg, presently occupied by Manjhi despite demitting the CM office, Sushil Modi said while the crime situation was deteriorating, the state government’s priority was to guard fruits. “Nitish Kumar does not have policemen to check crimes but he has two dozen policemen to prevent a ‘Mahadalit’ to eat mangoes and litchis and send others to Delhi to join anti-corruption bureau there,” the senior BJP leader said. He alleged that initially to teach a lesson to Manjhi for going against him, Kumar deployed personnel to spy on Manjhi and later got the telephone and cable connections snapped at 1, Anne Marg bungalow which Manjhi continues to occupy. On Kumar sending policemen to Delhi, Sushil Modi said Kumar knows that Delhi does not have full-statehood status and in such a condition no official can be deployed there without permission of the Lt Governor. “Still in order to pick confrontation with the BJP-led NDA government at the centre, Kumar sent half-a-dozen policemen to join anti-corruption bureau on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s request for political reasons,” Sushil Modi who played deputy to Kumar during NDA rule in Bihar, said. “Uttar Pradesh government turned down request of Delhi government to send policemen for ACB but Bihar acted promptly,” he said. On Kumar referring to Union ministers taking Bihar officials with them, Sushil Modi asked him to state how many officials were on deputation in the state from other states. PTI
