'New India does not tolerate terrorism, teaches lessons to those who threaten us': PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the “new India” does not tolerate terrorism but strikes back with all its strength.

Speaking at the ‘News18 Rising Bharat Summit’ in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said “Everybody has experienced the Rising Bharat. This new Bharat does not endure terrorism, rather it inflicts serious damage upon perpetrators. The people who used to terrorise us… are nowhere now.”

Referring to the Balakot airstrikes in Pakistan that took place on February 26, he said “This new Bharat does not endure terrorism, rather it inflicts serious damage upon perpetrators. The people who used to terrorise us… are nowhere now,” he said. The Prime Minister added that the world can see India’s response to those who wounded it with terrrorism.

He asserted that only a secure nation can be the backbone of a developed nation.

PM Modi also targeted UPA governments, saying that India was once losing its credibility in the world and its citizens had lost confidence before 2014 since the then government was defending all its scams.

PM Modi said powerful and corrupt leaders are wondering why the agencies are targeting them, adding that this is the change that has come in the last 10 years.

“Things have changed now … Centre is dealing with corrupt people with technology. Today, hiding money trail is very difficult. That is why cash is being recovered from houses of TMC and Congress leaders and this is the reason they are so frustrated,” he said.
