Naval war room leak case: CBI raids premises of accused

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted raids at alleged suspect Abhishek Verma’s premises across Delhi and NCR in connection with the Navy war room leak case. The agency teams carried out searches at 10 locations in Delhi and Gurgaon, CBI sources said. [caption id=“attachment_335101” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Reuters”] [/caption] The raids came after an FIR was registered on Wednesday based on Abhishek Verma’s former associate Edmond Allen’s allegations. Allen alleges that Verma was involved in forgery, money laundering, illegal dealings with defence suppliers and tax evasion and has submitted documents to the CBI and ED. Earlier, the CBI has sought documents related to the escrow account of New York-based firm, an alleged front company of Abhishek Verma. The CBI sources had said that Allen was asked to submit the details of nearly $ 83,000 deposited in the escrow account in the form of securities. With inputs from PTI
