While the prices of onions have been a cause of concern for people across the country, a diner in a South Mumbai restaurant sustained multiple injuries after an argument over the bulb not being served to him. According to a DNA report , 23-year-old Mayur Jadhav had gone for dinner to a south Mumbai eatery when he found that no onions had been served to accompany his order and objected to it. However, a Mid-day report quoted Jadhav as saying that they had one plate of onions and asked for one more which was not served by the waiter leading to the argument. “We informed him that the prices had stabilised, but he got agitated and snapped at me, saying, ‘Don’t preach to me about onion prices’," Jadhav was quoted as saying in the report. While a group of the restaurant’s staff attacked Jadhav and his family accompanying him, the fisticuffs ended only after a glass thrown by a waiter struck the diner in the face resulting in bleeding. Jadhav filed a complaint with the police and two waiters   of the restaurant were later arrested and remanded to police custody by a court.   The two waiters have been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code for assault and threatening Jadhav.
