In a bizarre and disturbing incident, two students and the principal of a junior college in Nalasopara on the outskirts of Mumbai have been arrested after it was revealed that the latter had paid the students to kill his wife. According to a report, which appeared in today’s Times of India , 30-year-old Amarjeet Singh who is the principal and commerce teacher at Thakur Vidya Mandir School and Junior College had hatched a plan to kill his wife. Singh wanted his 28-year-old wife Kiran killed because he was annoyed and embarrassed by her suspicions that he was having affairs with his students. Singh then roped in his former student, 20-year-old Akbarali Warsi, to kill his wife, for which he allegedly paid the former student Rs 50,000. Kiran went readily since she knew the student and was taken an apartment where she was drugged, murdered and then her body chopped up into pieces for disposal. While Singh filed a missing complaint and alleged his wife might have been having an affair, police kept a tab on him and discovered that he was in regular touch with Warsi. When questioned Warsi admitted to the crime and subsequently arrested. Singh was also arrested by the police based on Warsi’s statement and the duo are presently in police custody till 1 July.
