World's elite to grace gala pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar

All roads will lead to Mumbai in July where one of the India’s biggest wedding is going to take place. Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani will get married to Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, on 12 July. However, Ambani family is hosting a gala pre-wedding celebrations in March in Gujarat’s Jamnagar that would be attended by the world’s elite among others.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s three-day pre-wedding celebrations will be held on Mar. 1, 2 and 3 at Reliance Greens in Jamnagar where over 10 million trees are planted and the area is flourished with flowers and fruits and houses Asia’s largest mango orchard.

Others, who are expected to attend Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding celebrations, include Lupa Systems CEO James Murdoch, Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim, Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio, Hillhouse Capital founder Zhang Lei, BP chief executive Murray Auchincloss, Exor CEO John Elkann, former Cisco chairman John Chambers, Brookfield Asset Management CEO Bruce Flatt, and Ajit Jain, vice chairman of insurance operations, Berkshire Hathaway.

The entire Jamnagar airport and the stretch to the RIL refinery complex are being beautified by Reliance for the single biggest gathering of VIPs in India outside the G20 and a testament to Mukesh Ambani’s global stature and influence.

The Jamnagar airport, which sees single digit landings daily till date, will witness around 50 landings on 1 March as a host of VIPs, especially tycoons from India and celebrities from the entertainment industry will visit the city in Gujarat for the pre-wedding festivities.

Anant Ambani got engaged to Radhika Merchant at the Shrinathji temple in Rajasthan’s Nathdwara in 2022. After this, a ceremony was organised in 2023 at Ambani’s multi-storied residence, Antilia, in Mumbai’s Altamount Road.

Why Ambanis are hosting pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar?

The Reliance Greens in Jamnagar, where the pre-wedding festivities will take place, was built in 1997. It is said that Anant has “lovingly nurtured” the “world’s largest grassroot refining complex into a haven of care and compassion for over thousands of rescued animals.”

The place is said to be “closest” to the heart of Ambani family where they said to have built their “fondest memories” over the past 25 years.

On 16 February, Anant and Radhika celebrated their Lagan Lakhvanu, the auspicious ritual, which includes written invitations offered first to the Gods and then to close family. This too was held in Jamnagar at the Ambani family estate.
