He also congratulated the efforts of the electronic media in spreading awareness. “I saw several TV channels showing dirt left behind after crackers. I congratulate them for spreading awareness on importance of cleanliness,” he wrote.

The prime minister launched the “Swachch Bharat” or Clean India campaign on 2 October and has involved the public in it by encouraging them to post photographs of littering and the cleaning efforts. IANS
