The allotment of the Cabinet ministers in the new NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been announced.

The announcement of portfolios allocated of the ministers were made soon after the first Cabinet meeting of Modi 3.0 on June 10 at the prime minister’s official residence in New Delhi.

Rajnath Singh retained the Home Ministry, while will continue to be the Home Minister.

A total of 72 leaders – including the Prime Minister – took oath to be part of the Modi 3.0 ministry on Sunday, June 9.

The Modi 3.0 council of ministers include representation from all corners of the country. It has 27 ministers from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10 from Scheduled Castes, five each from Scheduled Tribes and minorities.

A record 18 senior ministers will be heading ministries.

Also, there are 33 first-timers in the ranks.

The new Cabinet led by PM Modi includes 43 ministers who have served 3 terms or higher in Parliament, with 39 having been ministers before in Central government.

It also has multiple former chief ministers and 34 ministers who have served in state legislatures and 23 having worked as ministers in states.

BJP has won 240 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, 32 short of a majority (272) in the 543-member House. With the help of allies in the National Democratic Alliance or NDA the number of seats notched up to 293, resulting to a formation of coaltion government at the Centre.
