New Delhi: A minor fire today broke out on the second floor of the Parliament Annexe which was brought under control by fire fighters. A meeting of the national executive of JD(U) was underway when the fire broke out. The meeting, however, continued uninterrupted. [caption id=“attachment_2721466” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]

Twitter/ANI[/caption] “The fire occurred on the second floor of Annexe building of Parliament following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control,” a fire department official said. The fire was noticed around 1.30 PM. “No causalities or injuries were reported. It appears to be caused by a short circuit. However, the exact cause behind the fire is being investigated,” said the official. The fire led to heavy smoke which filled the corridor of the building.
