Lucknow: One more person was arrested today in connection with alleged abduction, gangrape and religious conversion of a 20-year-old girl in Meerut district, a senior police officer said. “One Sanaullah was arrested today from near Sohrab Gate bus stand in Meerut” in connection with the case, Uttar Pradesh IGP (Law and Order) Amrendra Sengar said. Yesterday, the SSP Meerut had announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000 on Sanaullah, the IGP said, adding investigations were on in the case. Sanaullah was apprehended from the Meerut railway station when he was trying to escape to Delhi, SSP Omkar Singh said. According to the SSP, on June 28 Sanaullah was admitted to Loknayak hospital in Delhi following complaint of heart ailment and was discharged on 1 July. PTI
