Manipal medical student abducted outside university library and gangraped

A medical college student of the Manipal University in Karnataka was reportedly abducted from outside the university library and then gangraped by three persons. The student, who hails from Kerala and is pursuing her MBBS in the university, was reportedly waiting for an autorickshaw to return home from the library on Thursday night, said a report on Manglorean.com . She hailed an autorickshaw in which the group of men was present and was allegedly abducted and then taken out of the University campus premises, a report in the Hindu stated. AFP[/caption] A senior police official was quoted in another report as saying in another report that the 22-year-old student was taken around two kilometres outside the university where she was gangraped.   The student was then dropped back near the residence where she was staying and the group of men fled. Her roommates reportedly informed the university administration and she was rushed for treatment to a local hospital. The girl has sustained a fracture in her leg and injuries on her body, a report on Dajiworld stated, adding that she was presently still in shock after the incident and had been unable to talk to the police. So far no arrests have been made in the case and police are still investigating the case. A case of kidnap and rape has been registered, as per the complaint filed by Manipal Academy of Higher Education Estate Manager Jai Vittal.
