A medical college student of the Manipal University in Karnataka was reportedly abducted from outside the university library and then gangraped by three persons. The student was then dropped back near the residence where she was staying and the group of men fled. Her roommates reportedly informed the university administration and she was rushed for treatment to a local hospital. The girl has sustained a fracture in her leg and injuries on her body,

So far no arrests have been made in the case and police are still investigating the case. A case of kidnap and rape has been registered, as per the complaint filed by Manipal Academy of Higher Education Estate Manager Jai Vittal.
