In a shocking incident in Pune, a day out for a family turned into a nightmare when a man pointed a gun at them and threatened to kill them over a minor argument. What was worse was that after the incident, the police refused to file a complaint deeming it a “trivial matter”. The report, which appeared in today’s Mid Day newspaper, tells the story of the Keswani family – Gopal Keswani, his wife, sister and his eight-month-old daughter-who had stepped out on Sunday evening to the Amanora Town Centre Mall. “After wandering around for a while, we went to the east block where they have a playing area for children,” Keswani told Mid Day. When Keswani rushed to his wife’s defence, the accused pulled out his gun and threatened to shoot him. The situation was defused by security personnel present there and Keswani contacted the police. According to the Mid Day report, the area police inspector dismissed it as a trivial matter, saying that the accused had a gun license and had notified mall security about his gun.
