Man accused of Delhi metro firing commits suicide

The man who had shot dead his wife on Tuesday at New Delhi’s Karkardooma metro station, has committed suicide in Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh. According to a CNN IBN report, Pawan, who shot his wife and his father-in-law at the metro station and had been absconding after the incident, hung himself from a tree near a railway station of Muradnagar. Agencies[/caption] Pawan had opened fired at his wife and father-in-law while they were entering the metro station. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital where the 25-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries. Her father is in critical condition. The accused had reportedly arrived in a red Alto car and stopped just outside the metro station before shooting the woman. A double barrel gun was recovered from the site after the incident. Karkardooma is among the busiest metro stations in Delhi and is just a stop before the Anand Vihar ISBT on the Vaishali – Dwarka blue line. Security at all Delhi Metro stations are under the Central Industrial Security Force.
