Maharashtra: Deputy CM Fadnavis cleans Mumbai's Mumbadevi temple premises

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis joined the cleanliness drive and participated in the cleaning of the Mumbadevi temple premises in Mumbai. “Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has urged everyone to clean the temples across the country before the Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya. Under the same initiative, we too did a cleanliness drive at our Mumbai’s deity, Mumbadevi temple. I think this is a really good initiative and people of all religions should go to their places of faith and undertake this cleanliness drive,” said Fadnavis. The cleanliness initiative aligns with the nationwide campaign launched by BJP president J P Nadda, encouraging the ruling party members to undertake cleanliness activities in temples and their surroundings. J P Nadda initiated the drive at Guru Ravidas Temple in Karol Bagh on Sunday.

Prominent BJP leaders, including Union ministers and chief ministers, took part in similar efforts across various regions of the country. The party aims to generate enthusiasm leading up to the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol at the Ayodhya temple scheduled for January 22. Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh chief ministers Yogi Adityanath, Bhupendra Patel, Bhajan Lal Sharma and Mohan Yadav joined the cleanliness campaign in Ayodhya, Gandhinagar, Jaipur and Ujjain, respectively. Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw attended the exercise at a temple in Baleswar in Odisha. Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Meenakshi Lekhi were among others who cleaned up temples in different places. The BJP will also be felicitating people’s visit to the Ram temple after January 22, when Prime Narendra Modi will attend the consecration ceremony, and help them in their stay. The Uttar Pradesh government and several organisations on Sunday launched a statewide cleanliness drive, which will continue till January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram temple. PM Modi cleaned the premises of the Kalaram Temple in Nashik last Friday as part of the Swachchata Abhiyan campaign and appealed to the people to carry out cleanliness drives at temples across the country ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Delivering his inaugural address at the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik, the Prime Minister reiterated his call for cleanliness campaigns, urging citizens to clean pilgrimage places and temples across the country on ‘Pran Pratishtha’ day of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the grand temple on January 22. With inputs from agencies.
