Boys from Madhya Pradesh secured the top three positions year’s IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced exams and Satvat Jagwani of Satna in Madhya Pradesh emerged the topper with a score of 469 out of 504. The second and the third position were bagged by residents of Indore – Janak Agarwal and Mukesh Pareekh. Krati Tiwari, who also hails from Indore, emerged as the all India topper in girls’ category. Screengrab[/caption] Speaking to The Hindustan Times, Satvat said he wants to pursue Computer Science from IIT-Bombay. Satvat’s mother told The Hindustan Times that he used to commute between Satna and Kota everyday for two years for his coaching. The full results will be declared at 10 am on Thursday. A report in The Indian Express quoted statistics released by the IIT-Bombay and said 26, 456 candidates qualified for admission to IITs and NITs. According to the statistics, a total of 1,24,741 candidates applied for JEE mains of which 1,17,238 appeared for the test and 26,456 students cleared the mains. 23,407 male candidates qualified for the exam, outnumbering 3,049 female candidates.
