Madan Lal Khurana stable after brain haemorrhage

New Delhi: Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana, who was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here early Thursday following brain haemorrhage, is stable and may be shifted out of the intensive care unit (ICU) in three-four days, doctors said Friday. “Currently he (Khurana) is in the ICU and his vital parameters are showing improvement. His blood pressure has settled. He is showing spontaneous activity in all four limbs and is responding to the treatment,” said hospital chairman D.S. Rana. “The raised pressure of the brain has been eased today (Friday) and doctors are planning to reduce ventilatory support gradually,” he added. “We may do a CT Scan next week and if this improvement continues, we may shift him from ICU in 3-4 days.” [caption id=“attachment_970539” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Madan Lal Khurana. IBNLive[/caption] The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, 76, who suffered a haemorrhage earlier in 2011, was admitted to the hospital at 3 a.m. Thursday in an unconscious state with bleeding inside his brain. He has been operated upon and the bleeding has been controlled. According to officials, the hour-long operation was conducted by Rajesh Acharya, Samir Kalra and Gaurav Jain of the neurosurgery department. Veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani met the ailing leader Friday morning and spent nearly 30 minutes with him, the source said. BJP leader V.K. Malhotra too came to see Khurana Friday while Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel had met the ailing leader Thursday evening. IANS
