Police have arrested the co-owner of a factory, which on Thursday collapsed under the impact of a blast in west Delhi’s Sudarshan Park, officials said.
“Sumit Gupta, an accused in the Moti Nagar factory collapse incident has been held,” said West Delhi deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Monika Bhardwaj on Saturday.

A portion of the building, which comprises the ground and first floors, at Sudarshan Park in Moti Nagar had collapsed on 3 January , killing at least seven people and injuring eight others. The injured, including co-owner Ankit Gupta, are undergoing treatment in a hospital.
According to Bhardwaj, the building collapse was triggered by an LPG blast.
The fire department received a call about the collapse at 8:48 pm on Thursday. Eight fire tenders, along with ambulances, were rushed to the spot.
