Look who's paying the price: Tehelka sacks 35 employees

Pressure after its founder and editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal was arrested by the Goa Police on a sexual harassment charge and resignation of its managing editor Shoma Chaudhury recently is showing up on Tehelka, as the news magazine handed pink slips to around 35 employees on Thursday.[caption id=“attachment_1273129” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Tarun Tejpal. Reuters[/caption] Most of these sacked employees belonged to the circulation department, a Business Standard report said. “The termination of these employees has put into question of how the magazine will send future copies of the magazine to its subscribers. A source in Tehelka said the decision was communicated by the publisher, Nina Tejpal to the terminated employees through an email"— the _Business Standard_report said. Majority stake holder in the magazine KD Singh denied any knowledge of about the mass sacking.
