The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced the third list of nine candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Tamil Nadu BJP state president K Annamalai will contest from Coimbatore, Pon Radhakrishnan from Kanyakumari, former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan fielded from Chennai South and Union Minister L Murugan in the fray from Nilgiris.
The second list of the saffron party included the names of 72 candidates. The nominees included Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, and Anurag Singh Thakur, and former chief ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, Trivendra Singh Rawat, and Basavaraj Bommai.
BJP chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni was fielded from Garhwal in Uttarakhand.
BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawade announced the first list of candidates for the following seats: 51 seats from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal, 24 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 each from Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, 9 seats from Telangana, 11 from Assam, 11 each from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, five from Delhi, two from Jammu and Kashmir, three from Uttarakhand, two from Arunachal Pradesh and one each from Goa, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar, and Daman and Diu.
