No information has been made available about what happened to the protester who was detained by the police. 3:30 pm: All protesters removed from Janpath Janpath is finally clear for traffic with all the protesters being cleared. Six DTC buses were used to transport the protesters to another location from where they will be later released at the end of the day. 3:00 pm : Police start clearing protesters Hours after they sat down on Janpath the police forcibly carried them off into waiting vans and buses. Among those detained by the police include Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and the activists who were part of the protest rally. There was high drama when the activists were being taken away, with many of them clinging to each other to prevent being detained. Most of the protesters have been taken away to the nearby police station. 1:00 pm:Kejriwal leads protest against Khurshid, doesn’t make it to PM’s residence The show- down between India Against Corruption (IAC) activist Arvind Kejriwal and union law minister Salman Khurshid continued on Friday with the activist-turned-politician protesting and refusing to leave until Khurshid was arrested for the mismanagement of funds by an NGO he heads. Kejriwal led the protest by a group of around 100 physically challenged people to the residence of the Prime Minister around midday. BR Ambedkar was once in this seat. A case should be registered against Khurshid and his wife.Till he is declared innocent, he should be out of the cabinet,” the activist-cum-politician said. “Both Khurshid and his wife are very powerful people. They will be able to cleanse the evidence. They can put pressure on witnesses. They should be arrested to prevent this,” Kejriwal said. “Now let’s make this place another Tahrir Square (centre of anti-regime protests in Egypt). Now people should take leave and join the protest. Now its a fight to finish.Prime Minister will have to meet us and accept our demands. Khurshid has to resign. He should be arrested,” he said. The anti-corruption activist then refused to leave the venue of the protest until their demands were met KK Dikshit, president of Rashtriya Viklaang Party, which conducted the agitation also demanded the resignation of Khurshid and his wife Louis. An NGO headed by the law minister and run by his wife has been accused of misappropriating and misusing funds. With PTI input
