Landmine explosion near LoC kills one jawan, injures another

Jammu: An army jawan was killed and another got injured when a land mine exploded near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Lance Naik Naresh Kumar was killed on the spot and another jawan got injured when they stepped over the mine along the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district last night, a Defence spokesman said here today. Reuters[/caption] The two victims were part of Road Opening Party (ROP) when the incident took place, he said, adding body of Kumar will be sent to his native place in Haryana after completion of all formalities.
