Lalu Prasad convicted to 5 yrs in jail: From RJD to BJP, who said what

Former Bihar chief minister and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav was today sentenced to five years in prison, with a fine of Rs 25 lakhs in connection with the fodder scam case. While the RJD have said that they will appeal in a higher court, Congress and BJP were of the opinion that such a verdict was a historic benchmark in India’s political history, [caption id=“attachment_1150219” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Lalu Prasad Yadav. PTI[/caption] Here are some of the reactions to Lalu’s conviction: Manoj Jha (RJD): We will appeal for Lalu’s innocence like any other citizen of India. This will strengthen the solidarity amongst our cadre and the party,Lalu ji will remain our leader. Raghuvansh Prasad (RJD): Lalu will come out of jail in no time. We will appeal against his conviction in higher courts. This conviction does not create any leadership troubles in our party. Ram Kripal Yadav (RJD): Lalu ji is innocent, he is a victim of political conspiracy. The BJP and Nitish Kumar are behind this. We will ask the janta how a person who is helpful to the poor went to jail. Naresh Agarwal (Samajwadi Party): Lalu ji can appeal to higher courts.  How can he lose his MP seat just by verdict of a lower court? Its wrong. Jagdambika Pal (Congress): People will be scared after Lalu’s verdict. MPs/MLAs will know they may lose their post for wrongdoings. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (BJP): Lalu’s conviction has both a lesson and a message in it. Kirti Azad (BJP): This is a landmark judgement. As you sow, so you shall reap. Sabir Ali (JDU): I I don’t think it will affect Bihar politics much but it will certainly affect RJD.
