Kokrajhar MLA arrested for inciting violence

Bodoland People’s Front MLA Pradeep Brahma was arrested today for allegedly inciting violence in Assam’s Kokrajhar district after he was named by witnesses in multiple cases. PTI[/caption] Brahma was arrested in Kokrajhar district, which was the epicentre of the violence in the state that left lakhs displaced, and is likely to be produced before a court today. Five cases have been filed against Brahma for his alleged involvement in inciting violence. The party has already launched a protest rally against the arrest of the MLA and has begun blocking roads and highways in the area, CNN-IBN reported. The police has imposed indefinite curfew in the district in order to maintain peace.
