Thiruvananthapuram: Continuing to target Chief Minister Oommen Chandy over the solar scam, the LDF opposition today kept up their protest in the state assembly, forcing suspension of question hour. Wielding placards demanding the resignation of Chandy, the LDF members rushed into the well of the house immediately after the day’s proceedings began. Speaker G Karthikeyan then suspended the question hour. [caption id=“attachment_882663” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Kerala CM Oommen Chandy. The scam pertains to alleged fraudulent deals indulged in by a firm run by one Saritha Nair and her friend Biju Radhakrishnan by luring clients for solar panel installation schemes. Biju, who had been absconding for long, was arrested from Coimbatore on Monday while Saritha is already under judicial remand. The issue assumed a political dimension after it was revealed that two personal staff members in the Chief Minister’s Office had allegedly made frequent calls to Saritha Nair. The two staff members were removed from the CM’s office last week. PTI
