Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan admitted to Chennai hospital, to be discharged on Sunday

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been admitted to Apollo Hospital, said a spokesman on Saturday.

In a statement, Apollo Hospital said Vijayan was admitted on March 2, at 11.55 p.m. for a routine annual medical check-up.

The 73-year-old Vijayan was admitted to the hospital at Greams Road here at 11.55 pm yesterday for "routine annual medical check-up", a hospital bulletin said.

According to the statement, Vijayan will be discharged on Sunday. The same was confirmed by the Chief Minister's Office in Thiruvananthapuram as well.

Earlier an official of the hospital told IANS that Vijayan was admitted under an urologist.
