Kejriwal seeks meeting with PM Modi to discuss tussle with LG, postings of bureaucrats

New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has on Tuesday sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which he is likely to discuss several issues including the relation between the Centre and Delhi government with him. In the meeting, Kejriwal will raise several issues ranging from the tussle with the LG, procurement of land at concessional rate for bus depots and schools,” sources said. During the budget session of the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal had said that he had sought an appointment to meet the PM, but he did not get a chance. The AAP government and the LG, who represents the centre, are locked in a fight over several issues. In an open letter in June, Kejriwal had also appealed to Modi to take steps to improve Delhi’s deteriorating law and order situation or hand over the police to the city government. “Delhi people have voted for us and the rest of the country supported Modi. So please let us run Delhi and you (Modi) run the country. Don’t create trouble for us every day through the L-G…This is not being a good Prime Minister. Taking revenge for losing Delhi from people and AAP is not right,” Kejriwal had told a news channel during an interview. PTI
