Jio AirFiber: Telecom giant introduces its latest super fast internet service, check out its plans

Reliance Jio has officially launched its new wireless internet service, JioAirFiber, which aims to meet the connectivity needs of home entertainment, smart home services, and high-speed broadband users. The objective is to provide high-speed internet access across India. During the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM), Jio introduced JioAirFiber, emphasizing that its extensive optical fiber infrastructure covers more than 1.5 million kilometres throughout India. “With Jio AirFiber, we are expanding our addressable market to rapidly cover every home in our country with similar quality of service. Jio AirFiber will enable millions of homes with world-class digital entertainment, smart home services and broadband, through its solutions across education, health, surveillance and smart home,” said Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.

With this vast optical-fiber network, Jio can potentially reach over 200 million locations. However, despite this broad coverage, the company faces the challenge of establishing physical last-mile connectivity, which often leads to significant delays in various parts of the country. Consequently, millions of potential customers remain without access to home broadband due to the complexities and time required to extend optical fiber connections to their premises. Jio AirFiber, guarantees fiber-like speeds without the requirement for physical wiring. It’s a hassle-free setup – users just need to plug it in, power it on, and they’re ready to enjoy high-speed internet. Moreover, users have the option to establish a personal Wi-Fi hotspot within their homes, connecting to ultra-high-speed internet supported by True 5G technology. Jio AirFiber Plans Jio’a AirFiber internet services can be broadly classified into two categories, AirFiber and AirFiber Max. Both these categories have various tiers, all of which come with over 550 digital channels, as well as 14 apps. AirFiber The AirFiber has three plans. For Rs 599 a month which gets you virtually unlimited data at 30Mbps, and the other for Rs 899 a month, which gets you virtually unlimited data at 100Mbps. For Rs 1199, you are again getting 100Mbps and virtually limitless data. However, what sets this one apart, is the OTT options. With the Rs 599, as well as the Rs 899 plan, you get access to 14 OTT apps. With the Rs 1,199 Plan, you get access to those 14 OTT apps, along with Netflix, an Amazon Prime account for Prime Video, as well as JioCinema Premium subscriptions. As stated before, you get over 550 digital channels, which will be accessible through a set-top box. Air FirberMax Like the AirFiber category, you again get three options to choose from. For Rs 1,499, you can get you virtually unlimited data at 300Mbps, for Rs 2,499, you get virtually unlimited data at 500Mbps, and for Rs 3,999 a month, you get data speed of 1000Mbps for virtually limitless data. For any of the plans you choose under Air FiberMax, you will get over 550 digital channels, which will be accessible through a set-top box. You will also get subscriptions to over 14 OTT apps, including Netflix, JioCinema Premium, an Amazon Prime account along with Prime Video. Do note, that Jio AirFiber Max will be available in select areas only. All plans are available in 6 and 12-month package options as well. There is an installation fee of Rs 1000 but that gets waived if you choose an annual plan. You can also choose to buy an annual plan and then get it converted to an EMI. Network18 and TV18 – the companies that operate Firstpost – are controlled by Independent Media Trust, of which Reliance Industries is the sole beneficiary.
