It was a close shave for passengers travelling from Varanasi to Khajuraho by Jet Airways flight number 9W 2423 as the B737-800 Boeing aircraft experienced problem with its landing gear while landing.[caption id=“attachment_1664057” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  A Jet Airways aircraft. AFP.[/caption] “Safety chutes were deployed and all 59 passengers and eight crew on board the aircraft disembarked safely and were transferred to the terminal,” a statement tweeted out by Jet Airways said. The airlines has informed aviation regulator DGCA about the incident assuring that the carrier would cooperate with the authorities during the investigation to the cause of the incident. The carrier is flying an additional aircraft on the Delhi-Varanasi sector to accommodate the outbound passengers. There were also reports of smoke during the incident but the carrier has made no mention of it in its statement.
