Former Defence Minister Jaswant Singh is in a coma in the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi, according to CNN-IBN. Doctors say he is in a very critical condition.
Singh had sustained serious head injuries following a fall at his residence, said reports. He was admitted to the army hospital where he is in intensive care.
The 76-year-old former NDA minister suffered a fall at his residence around 11 pm on Thursday.
The former BJP leader was expelled from the party after he rebelled in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
He then contested the Lok Sabha polls from Barmer in Rajasthan as an Independent when the party decided to field someone else. He lost the election.
However, in late May, he paid a visit to party patriarch LK Advani in what was called a courtesy visit.
