Srinagar: Two Hizbul militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said on Tuesday. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Khudwani area of Kulgam district on Sunday following specific information about the presence of some militants, a police official told PTI. During searches, the militants opened fire at the security forces who retaliated, leading to a gunfight.

Confirming the killing, Army’s northern command in Udhampur told Hindustan Times that the two militants were killed in an encounter with police army and CRPF in Khudwani, Kulgam. He also added that the forces had arrested one and recovered weapons from them. With inputs from PTI
